Lumidoor started with a simple moment of inspiration. While visiting a friend’s home, I noticed the transom windows above every interior door—filling the space with natural light and subtle architectural charm. I loved the effect and wanted it in my own home.
Then reality set in.
Cutting into walls, replacing doors, and hiring professionals would cost thousands of dollars - and create a mess I didn’t want. It felt like an upgrade that only made sense for new construction or major renovations.
So instead of replacing doors, I decided to rethink them.
I designed door window inserts that capture the look and brightness of transom windows while working with the doors most homes already have: standard flat and 6-panel hollow-core interior doors. They’re designed to be affordable, paintable, and easy enough for a homeowner or handyman to install - no specialised tools or skills required.
What started as a solution for my own home became Lumidoor: a smarter way to add light, privacy, and character without tearing anything out. Today, Lumidoor inserts are used in homes, offices, and studios by people who want a meaningful upgrade without the cost and disruption of full door replacement.
